In Week 9, the Detroit Lions' future opponents combined to go 2-5. Here's a look at how each team performed:
Week 10 - at Bears (5-3) - beat Packers, 27-20
Chicago knocked Aaron Rodgers out of Monday night's game early on and put together an 18-play drive that took 8:58 off the clock and included a fourth-down conversion to close things out. Josh McCown threw for 272 yards and 2 touchdowns, while Matt Forte rushed for 125 yards and a touchdown on 24 carries. This was an impressive, impressive win by the Bears.
Week 11 - at Steelers (2-6) - lost to Patriots, 55-31
The good news for Pittsburgh is that Le'Veon Bell rushed for 74 yards on 16 carries and Ben Roethlisberger threw for 400 yards, 4 touchdowns and 2 interceptions. The bad news is that the Steelers could not do anything defensively in this game. Tom Brady put up 432 yards and 4 touchdowns, while Stevan Ridley rushed for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns on 26 carries.
Week 12 - vs. Buccaneers (0-8) - lost to Seahawks, 27-24 (OT)
Poor Tampa Bay. The Bucs stunned the Seahawks by taking a 21-0 lead in the first quarter. Slowly but surely, though, Seattle got back into the game and eventually tied things up to send it to overtime. In the extra session, the Seahawks were dominant and kicked the game-winning field goal to keep the Bucs winless.
Week 13 - vs. Packers (5-3) - lost to Bears, 27-20
Without Rodgers, Green Bay had to turn to Eddie Lacy for any real offensive production. He rushed for 150 yards and a touchdown on 22 carries, but Seneca Wallace only managed to throw for 114 yards (with 0 touchdowns and 1 interception). In the end, the Packers defense's inability to get off the field prevented any real chance of a late comeback.
Week 14 - at Eagles (4-5) - beat Raiders, 49-20
Holy Nick Foles. He threw for 406 yards and 7 touchdowns -- yes, 7 touchdowns! -- on Sunday. Philadelphia absolutely demolished Oakland with an offensive display that showed just how explosive the Eagles can be when everything is clicking.
Week 15 - vs. Ravens (3-5) - lost to Browns, 24-18
The Ravens came back from a 21-10 deficit to make things interesting late in this game, but they weren't able to complete the comeback. As a result, they fell to the Browns by a pair of field goals and dropped to 3-5 on the season.
Week 16 - vs. Giants (2-6) - Bye week
New York was off this week.
Week 17 - at Vikings (1-7) - lost to Cowboys, 27-23
Minnesota was up 23-20 late in the fourth quarter. The Vikings weren't able to hold on and win the game, though. Tony Romo led the Cowboys 90 yards and threw the game-winning touchdown with only 35 seconds left. On the bright side for Minnesota, Adrian Peterson rushed for 140 yards and a touchdown on 25 carries.
