2012 re-draft: Riley Reiff or Mark Barron for Lions?

Considering how little other draft picks contributed last year, the Detroit Lions have to be quite happy with first-round pick Riley Reiff. He was active for all 16 games and even made 8 starts, mostly as part of the Lions' six-man offensive line package. Reiff wasn't a traditional starter aside from one game, but he figures to break into the starting lineup in 2013.

Given that the Lions have seemingly found a future starter for years to come at offensive tackle, do you think they would take someone else if they could go back and re-draft the first round last year? Sports Illustrated's Don Banks went back and did a 2012 re-draft a couple weeks ago, and he has the Lions going with safety Mark Barron, who was actually picked seventh overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

In Banks' re-draft, Reiff is available to be picked at 23rd overall, but he has the Lions going with Barron because of their need at safety. Banks writes that because Louis Delmas can't stay healthy, Barron would have been a big help in the secondary last season. In that sense, he probably would have contributed more than Reiff, I suppose.

Personally, I think I'd still take Reiff over Barron. While it's true that the Lions are in need of help at safety, having a second-year offensive tackle ready to start at either left or right tackle is pretty nice.
