Just before NFL free agency began on Tuesday afternoon, a rumor popped up suggesting that the Detroit Lions had signed cornerback DeAngelo Hall. He was recently released by the Washington Redskins, which were in need of cap room, so he was free to sign with a team prior to the start of the new league year. Even so, the rumor seemed a bit out of left field for the Lions.
As it turns out, the rumor was not true. Multiple Lions beat writers quickly shot it down.
I can confirm from a source the DeAngelo Hall rumors to Detroit are false.

Hall's agent just emailed to say the report is false. ... That doesn't mean it won't happen, but hasn't as of 4 p.m.

The Lions have reportedly "inquired" about Hall, but no offer has been made, and he certainly has not been signed. That comes as a relief to many, as Hall is not exactly all that highly thought of on or off the field. Just ask Dominic Raiola.
