The Detroit Lions are set to host free-agent safety Glover Quin for a visit, according to NFL.com's Ian Rapoport. Quin is apparently the only safety currently set to visit the Lions, and Rapoport says that the Lions have a great deal of interest in him.
Word of the Lions' interest in Quin first emerged on Monday night. It came out just after the Lions were named as one of the favorites to land safety Dashon Goldson. The report about Goldson seemed a bit far-fetched given his expected price tag, but Quin should be more affordable. For the Lions, that means they may actually be able to land Quin.
As John Niyo noted on Twitter, Quin would a great fit for the Lions:
Quin is exactly the kind of safety Lions want/need. Started at corner, then FS, and actually played de facto LB in Texans third-down D.

With Louis Delmas potentially ending up elsewhere, the Lions need to look at other options at safety. Quin would be a massive upgrade over the safeties currently on the roster, so this will be a big visit, especially with running back Reggie Bush coming to town as well.
