Free-agent wide receiver Darrius Heyward-Bey's visit with the Detroit Lions has concluded without a deal, according to Dave Birkett. Heyward-Bey is on his way home now, and he told Birkett that he will use his "long flight" to think about his future plans. In other words, Heyward-Bey may be picking between the Lions and Indianapolis Colts, which also hosted him for a visit this week.
What's working in the Lions' favor if it is between them and the Colts is Matthew Stafford. Heyward-Bey told Anwar Richardson that he had a great visit with the Lions, and he talked up the idea of playing in their offense with Stafford.
DHB said he'd enjoy playing with Stafford, who he's known since 2009 draft (same agents), after 7 dif QBs in Oakland

Richardson reports that Heyward-Bey doesn't currently have any other visits scheduled. There is no timetable for a decision, but it does sound like Heyward-Bey will sign with either the Lions or Colts.
I'm obviously biased, but if I'm a receiver looking to take my career to the next level, it'd be tough to turn down a chance to play with Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush. We'll have to wait and see if Heyward-Bey feels the same way or if he'd rather join the Colts.
