Former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders has once again moved on in the Madden NFL 25 cover vote. Sanders cruised to a victory in his second-round matchup with Marcus Allen by receiving 92 percent of the vote. Now he is in the third round, and he is set to take on former Baltimore Ravens linebacker Ray Lewis.
Lewis moved on to the third round by getting 62 percent of the vote against LaDainian Tomlinson. In the first round, Lewis defeated Derrick Brooks by a margin of 78-22.
If Sanders defeats Lewis and advances again, he will face the winner of an all-quarterback matchup featuring Joe Montana and Dan Marino. Based on how the voting has played out so far, I expect Sanders to win, but never say never with Lewis coming off of a Super Bowl and retirement. Sanders has won pretty comfortably so far, but things could tighten up a bit here in round No. 3.
Voting for the third-round matchups will be open through April 3.
