The first round of SB Nation's 2013 NFL writers mock draft is cruising along, and picks for the second round will soon be due. With the Detroit Lions going back on the clock at 36th overall, I've got a few days to get my pick figured out for the second round.
As a reminder, I took BYU defensive end Ezekiel Ansah with the fifth overall pick in this mock draft. I was hoping to land Central Michigan offensive tackle Eric Fisher, but he went one pick before the Lions went on the clock. As a result, I settled on Ansah with the Lions' first-round pick.
In the second round, it's unlikely that I will consider another defensive end. I'm not going to completely close the door in case a big name falls to the second round, but from what I've seen with the picks that have been made but aren't public yet, that's probably not going to happen.
So what should I do with the Lions' second-round pick? Needs remain at wide receiver, tight end, all three spots on the offensive line, defensive tackle, linebacker and cornerback. I'd say offensive line is the most pressing concern at this point, so maybe I should consider someone like Kentucky offensive guard Larry Warford. He has been mentioned as a potential second-round pick for the Lions in some mock drafts, as have offensive tackle Justin Pugh, linebacker Kevin Minter, wide receiver Justin Hunter, cornerback David Amerson and linebacker Jamie Collins.
Given that I took Ansah in the first round, who should I take in the second round for the Lions?
