In addition to re-signing two players on Monday, the Detroit Lions also got restricted free agent Jason Fox and exclusive-rights free agents Joique Bell, Shaun Chapas, Kris Durham and Ricardo Silva under contract. All of the players had been tendered deals earlier in the offseason, and they officially signed them on Monday with the offseason training program beginning.
Fox's restricted free agent tender is for one year and is worth $1.323 million. He was tendered at the original-round level, and he is expected to compete for a starting spot at offensive tackle. It's not clear just yet if left or right tackle will be his main focus, but there's a chance he could end up starting for the Lions in 2013.
As for the exclusive-rights free agents, they all were tendered one-year deals as well. Bell is set to make $630,000, while Chapas, Durham and Silva are now on deals worth $555,000.
The Lions have now re-signed all of their restricted and exclusive-rights free agents for 2013. Amari Spievey and Willie Young, who were restricted free agents, signed separate deals. The other players were all signed to one-year tenders.
