A running back will be on the cover of Madden NFL 25. The only question at this point revolves around if it will be a current or former running back on the cover. That's because the Madden 25 cover vote is down to former Detroit Lions running back Barry Sanders and current Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson.
Sanders advanced to the finals of the Madden 25 cover vote by defeating Jerry Rice by a margin of 52-48. Sanders previously defeated Joe Montana, Ray Lewis, Marcus Allen and Ron Rivera.
On the other side of the bracket, Peterson moved on to the finals with a 64-36 win over Arian Foster. Before this, Peterson beat Robert Griffin III, Rob Gronkowski, LeSean McCoy and Carson Palmer
Here's a look at what Sanders had to say after finding out that he beat Rice:
Wow. Just wow.I can't believe I won, I can't believe I beat @jerryrice THE Jerry Rice. Thanks so the fans. This is all you guys.

The winner of the final round of voting will be revealed on ESPN SportsNation on April 24 at 8 p.m. ET on ESPN2. If Sanders ends up being the winner, it will be the second year in a row that a Lions player won the vote. (Calvin Johnson, of course, was on the cover of last year's Madden.)
