— Detroit Lions (@DetroitLionsNFL) April 1, 2013 - Mike O'Hara has a look at how past No. 5 overall picks have fared in the NFL.
- Also from O'Hara is this insightful interview with new Lions defensive end Jason Jones.
- Cornerback DeAngelo Hall has re-signed with the Washington Redskins. Hall was at one time linked to the Lions, but that was based on an inaccurate rumor more than anything, as the team never actually pursued him.
- The Kansas City Chiefs are now only considering four (unknown) players for the No. 1 overall pick.
- There has been a lot of quarterback news this week affecting teams picking in the top 10. The Seattle Seahawks traded Matt Flynn to the Oakland Raiders, leading to the Raiders trading Carson Palmer to the Arizona Cardinals. Also, former Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb has signed with the Buffalo Bills. In theory, these moves could mean that Geno Smith won't be taken by the Raiders, Cardinals or Bills in the first round. Then again, adding a veteran quarterback hasn't stopped teams from drafting a quarterback before, so never say never.
- In other quarterback news, the Cleveland Browns traded Colt McCoy to the San Francisco 49ers on Monday.
