Lions draft picks 2013: Do you approve of Darius Slay at No. 36?

What do you say, Detroit Lions fans? Are you on board with the Lions' pick of Darius Slay?

USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions followed up their first-round pick of defensive end Ezekiel Ansah by going defense again in the second round. This time, they went with a cornerback, and their pick was Mississippi State's Darius Slay.

Coming into this draft, I felt that certain analysts were making too much of the Lions' need for cornerback help considering they re-signed Chris Houston and drafted three corners last year. I still feel that way, but with the Lions taking the best player available on their board, they ended up with a cornerback in the second round of this year's draft.

I suppose addressing the secondary is never a bad thing, but I would have liked to have seen the Lions go with an offensive player in the second round. I really liked the wide receivers that were available, but Tennessee taking Justin Hunter a couple picks earlier may have changed the Lions' plans.

What do you think of the Lions' decision to take Slay? Vote in the poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments.
