The Detroit Lions held their rookie minicamp over the weekend, and they are now back at work with their offseason training program. The rookies have joined the veterans for the training program, giving them another chance to get acclimated to life in the NFL.
Aside from the training program, the next major event for the Lions this offseason is their first set of organized team activities, which will take place next week. To be specific, the Lions have OTAs scheduled from May 21-23, and there are seven more days with an OTA after that. This all leads into the Lions' mandatory minicamp from June 11-13. Here's the full schedule:
OTAs
May 21-23
May 28-29
May 31
June 3-4
June 6-7
Minicamp
June 11-13
Once the Lions wrap up their OTAs and minicamp, the team will break until the end of July. At that point, everybody will return to Allen Park for the start of training camp, and actual football will be back in August with the preseason.
