The Detroit Lions added another new face to their roster this week by claiming cornerback DeQuan Menzie off waivers. The move was announced on Wednesday, and it brings the Lions' roster back up to the maximum of 90 players.
Menzie was just released by the Kansas City Chiefs on Tuesday. He entered the NFL as a fifth-round pick of the Chiefs in 2012 after playing college football at Alabama. He didn't appear in any games during his rookie year because he was placed on injured reserve before the regular season.
Adding Menzie is the fifth move the Lions have made so far this week. Here's a rundown of all of them:
- Claimed: CB DeQuan Menzie
- Signed: OG Darren Keyton, DE Freddie Bishop
- Released: RB Devin Moore, C Skyler Allen
There will undoubtedly be additional changes made to the roster over the course of the next couple months as the Lions get ready for training camp, but for now, they are back at 90 players.
