Mikel Leshoure injury: Lions RB dealing with sore hamstring

Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure missed the team's OTA on Wednesday because of a hamstring injury.

Detroit Lions running back Mikel Leshoure was held out of at least one OTA last week because of an undisclosed injury. He was also held out of Wednesday's OTA with the same injury, and it's no longer unknown. It turns out that he's dealing with a sore hamstring, according to Lions head coach Jim Schwartz.

Josh Katzenstein reports that Schwartz described the injury as being of the day-to-day variety, meaning it's not considered to be something serious. The same goes for the hamstring injury that has kept rookie defensive end Devin Taylor from taking part in the OTAs. He's also considered day-to-day.

As with all injuries, there's no sense in risking further damage by having Leshoure take part in thea OTAs if his hamstring isn't right. (The same goes for Taylor.) The important thing is for Leshoure to be 100 percent healthy when training camp starts. And considering he missed practice at the start of training camp last year after tweaking his hamstring, the best thing is to let him get healthy.
