Lions injury update from Wednesday's OTA

A look at which players were absent from Wednesday's Detroit Lions OTA.

Just like last week, the Detroit Lions were without several players when they hit the practice field for their latest OTA on Wednesday. To be specific, seven players didn't take part in the OTA, according to Tim Twentyman. Here's the full list: running back Jahvid Best, running back Mikel Leshoure, wide receiver Ryan Broyles, wide receiver Brian Robiskie, defensive end Devin Taylor, cornerback Darius Slay and safety Louis Delmas.

Most of the players who were out are dealing with some kind of a leg injury. Leshoure and Taylor, as mentioned earlier, are both nursing sore hamstrings. Meanwhile, Broyles, Slay and Delmas are all recovering from knee injuries. Broyles is coming back from another torn ACL, while Slay is recovering from minor knee surgery. As for Delmas, he's off rehabbing his knees in order to ensure he's ready for training camp.

It's unclear why Robiskie was out, as he took part in the OTAs last week. It seems to be a new injury, but what specifically is wrong is unknown.

There was some good news for the Lions on Wednesday, as quarterback Shaun Hill returned to practice. He was out last week with a boot on his left foot after having minor surgery, but Chris McCosky reports that Hill was "back to work" on Wednesday.

Linebacker Alex Elkins also seems to have returned to practice after missing some time with a hamstring injury.
