To wrap up the 2013 NFL Draft, we will take an in-depth look at each Detroit Lions pick. Next up is Corey Fuller.

WR Corey Fuller (Virginia Tech) - Round 6, Pick No. 171

With their first of two sixth-round picks, the Detroit Lions went with a wide receiver. They finally addressed their need at the position by drafting Virginia Tech's Corey Fuller, who was the first player at an offensive skill position selected by the Lions in this year's draft.

Random fact

Fuller began his college career on the track team at Kansas. He transferred to Virginia Tech in 2010 and walked on to the football team.

What the experts are saying

NFL.com:

While still raw to the game from an overall technique perspective, Fuller is a gifted athlete. He's very fast, has good flexibility, and is explosive out of his cuts, which makes him a weapon as a receiver. He'll need to improve his blocking and clean up his game at the next level, but his athletic ability will likely get him selected in the middle to late rounds of the draft.

ESPN.com:

Fuller has above-average size and works mainly from the slot. He shows strong awareness and has the top-end speed to stretch the middle of the field. Fuller is a bit tight getting out of lateral breaks but has strong ball skills.

Outlook for 2013

Fuller isn't expected to be an immediate contributor at wide receiver, but he should see time on special teams as his career begins. Just how quickly he will see playing time at wide receiver depends on how quickly he picks up the offense. If he's able to get a handle on things early on, he could work his way into the rotation at wide receiver during his rookie season.
