Lions draft picks set to attend NFL Rookie Symposium

The Detroit Lions' 2013 draft class is off to Ohio for the 2013 NFL Rookie Symposium.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The NFL Rookie Symposium is the last major event for the Detroit Lions' 2013 draft class this offseason before training camp begins. The last major team activities took place a couple weeks ago with the Lions' mandatory minicamp, which wrapped up the offseason training program. Since then, some draft picks have been involved with the Lions' youth football camps, and they attended a rookie/alumni dinner this week.

Now, the Lions' draft class is off to Ohio for the NFC portion of the 2013 NFL Rookie Symposium. AFC rookies attended the event earlier this week, and the NFC portion is set to take place from Wednesday to Saturday. Here's a look at some of the Lions' draft picks as they traveled to the event:

The Rookie Symposium revolves around educating rookies about the NFL's history and how players should conduct themselves on and off the field. It's really a crash course of sorts for how to be a professional athlete, and various current and former players are scheduled to speak at the event.
