Last month, the Detroit Lions claimed defensive end Braylon Broughton off waivers after he was let go by the New Orleans Saints. Broughton didn't officially join the team, though. He was released after failing his physical, so he instead became a free agent.
Fast forward to Wednesday and the Lions have in fact added Broughton. They have agreed to a new contract with him, according to Tim Twentyman, meaning he apparently was able to pass his physical this time around.
Here's a quick rundown on Broughton from our first post on him a couple weeks ago:
The Lions actually brought Broughton in for a pre-draft visit last year. He went undrafted, but he landed with the Saints as one of their UDFA signings. He ended up spending the 2012 season on the Saints' practice squad, and he signed a futures deal with the team after the regular season.
The addition of Broughton puts the Lions at 92 players on their roster, so they will have to release a couple of guys at some point on Wednesday.
