NFL's Top 100 Players of 2013: Ndamukong Suh comes in at No. 40

Detroit Lions defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh came in at No. 40 on NFL Network's Top 100 Players of 2013 list.

Defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh is the latest Detroit Lions player to be revealed as a member of NFL Network's "Top 100 Players of 2013." Suh came in at No. 40 on the list, as announced during Thursday's show.

Suh is the third Lions player included in this year's top 100 so far. Previously, it was revealed that linebacker Stephen Tulloch came in at No. 63 on the list and quarterback Matthew Stafford came in at No. 76. Chances are wide receiver Calvin Johnson will be the fourth and final member of the top 100 for the Lions, and I'd have to think he will be near the very top of the list.

I'm actually a bit surprised that Suh is only No. 40. He was 38th a year ago, and I figured he'd make a move up the list after what he did in 2012. He may have been a bit quiet on the stat sheet at times, but Suh put together a dominant finish to the 2012 season and was once again named to the Pro Bowl.

I suppose for Suh to move up next year, he will have to be more consistent over the course of the entire season. Plus, it wouldn't hurt if he's able to record a double-digit amount of sacks like he did in his rookie season. Perhaps that's the key to making a move up the list in 2014.
