In what is perhaps the biggest sign yet that training camp is right around the corner, the NFL has announced the report dates for rookies and veterans for all 32 NFL teams.
For the Detroit Lions, rookies are set to report for training camp on July 22, which is three weeks from Monday. Veterans are scheduled to report on July 25, which is three weeks from Thursday. In other words, we're just three weeks away from the offseason being over and training camp finally getting underway.
The Lions have not yet announced their training camp schedule, but the expectation is for the first practice to be held on Friday, July 26. That's unconfirmed for now, but given that veterans will be reporting on July 25, it would make sense for the first practice to be held a day later.
At some point in the next couple weeks, the Lions will announce their open practice schedule for training camp, so keep an eye out for that if you are interested in seeing the team in person.
