C.J. Mosley glad he signed with Lions

After the first real wave of NFL free agency was complete, the Detroit Lions added defensive tackle C.J. Mosley. He was looking for a new team after spending three seasons with the Jacksonville Jaguars, and he decided to join the Lions and their rotation at defensive tackle.

As noted by the Lions' official site, Mosley has spent most of his career playing in a 3-4 defense. He's now in a 4-3 scheme with the Lions, though, and he already seems to be enjoying the change since a 3-4 scheme "can cause you to play a little bit slower."

"I think it's a great defense. We're not reading, we're not reacting, we're going, and we're just trying to get to the backfield. We're getting our hands on people and wrecking everything. I like that.

"There's a lot more butt-kicking and less thinking."

Mosley also seems to be quite happy with getting to work with defensive assistant Jim Washburn. Mosley had high praise for Washburn, saying that "he's a high-energy guy that really cares about you and really wants you to do well." Mosley also feels that getting to work with Ndamukong Suh is great, and Mosley actually said that he tries to learn something from Suh every day.

Needless to say, Mosley is pleased with his decision to sign with the Lions.

Mosley, who had 45 tackles and 2.5 sacks last season, is expected to be the Lions' top backup at defensive tackle.
