Pride Of Detroit is counting down the top 10 Detroit Lions players of 2013, as voted on by readers of the site. 1,051 ballots were submitted, and next up is a look at the No. 4 player on the list.
No. 4 - RB Reggie Bush - 6,442 points (8 first-place votes)
The second new Lions player to appear on our top 10 list is running back Reggie Bush. Like Glover Quin, Bush was one of the Lions' biggest free-agent signings, and he appeared on 987 of the 1,051 ballots. Bush received eight first-place votes, helping him earn 6,442 points and a spot in the top five.
Bush comes to Detroit after spending two years with the Miami Dolphins and five years with the New Orleans Saints. Last season, in his final year in Miami, he rushed for 986 yards and 6 touchdowns, and he also caught 35 passes for 292 yards and 2 touchdowns.
Bush is expected to step into the starting running back role for the Lions. They made him one of their top priorities in free agency, and signing him was so important because they needed a replacement for Jahvid Best. The Lions lacked a playmaker like Best in their backfield last season, and Bush's explosiveness will be a welcome sight for Scott Linehan and company.
Bush may be new to the Lions, but hopes are quite high for him in 2013.
Previously: No. 10 Ryan Broyles, No. 9 Stephen Tulloch, No. 8 Riley Reiff, No. 7 Chris Houston, No. 6 Glover Quin, No. 5 Nick Fairley
