All eyes may be on the 2013 season with Detroit Lions training camp about to begin, but let's take a brief moment to look ahead to 2014. Why? Well, the 2013 NFL Record & Fact Book was recently released, and it includes an official list of opponents for each team for the 2014 season.
Only 14 opponents are currently known, but the following teams will be included on the Lions' 2014 schedule:
Home opponents: Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, New Orleans Saints, Tampa Bay Buccaneers, Buffalo Bills, Miami Dolphins, NFC East team
Away opponents: Chicago Bears, Green Bay Packers, Minnesota Vikings, Atlanta Falcons, Carolina Panthers, New England Patriots, New York Jets, NFC West team
As you can see, the Lions are set to match up with the NFC South and AFC East in 2014. The Lions also have a game against an NFC East team and a game against an NFC West team on their 2014 schedule. Specific opponents for those games to round out the schedule will be in place once the standings are final for the 2013 season.
