The start of training camp is always fun because it means football is back. After a long offseason, nothing is better than getting news about what is happening on the field for a change.
At the same time, though, the one downside of the return of football is the return of injury news. Injuries are quite common during training camp, especially early on as guys get acclimated to playing football again. Quite often news of a potential injury has fans holding their breath while they await word on what exactly happened.
Case in point: Detroit Lions first-round pick Ziggy Ansah suffered an ankle injury on the first day of training camp. The play-by-play updates on Twitter made it sound like nothing serious, but then he would leave a drill and you'd be holding your breath again. Luckily, it turns out that it wasn't in fact anything serious, according to Jim Schwartz.
Schwartz on Ansah's ankle: "He got stepped on out there on one, just normal first day stuff. He doesn't have anything that's significant."

You never want to hear about injuries in training camp, and that's especially the case with a player like Ansah. He really needs to develop over the course of the next month or so, and that'll be tough to do if he's on the sideline because of an injury. Thankfully, it doesn't sound like the ankle injury he suffered on Friday will force him to miss any time, but it's probably worth keeping an eye on going forward.
