Lions training camp: Chris Greenwood finally returns to practice

Cornerback Chris Greenwood finally returned to practice for the Detroit Lions on Tuesday.

Gregory Shamus

The Detroit Lions got some good news on Tuesday with cornerback Chris Greenwood finally returning to practice. He had been out since nearly the beginning of training camp with a hamstring injury, but he returned on Tuesday on a limited basis. Wide receiver Patrick Edwards and cornerback Chris Houston also returned to practice after being out on Monday.

In the bad news department, the Lions were without quite a few players on Tuesday. Here's the full list:

RB Montell Owens
WR Calvin Johnson
WR Ryan Broyles
C Leroy Harris
DE Jason Jones
CB Ross Weaver
S Amari Spievey
S Louis Delmas
S John Wendling

That list is pretty long, but it's important to note that guys like Johnson and Broyles were likely just held out to get some rest. The same probably goes for some others on the injury list since the Lions have a day off before their next game on Thursday.

One other injury note: Tight end Matt Veldman left Tuesday's practice and had his right foot in a boot.
