Lions wrap up training camp 2013

The Detroit Lions brought this year's training camp to a close on Tuesday.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Training camp is officially over for the Detroit Lions. The team held its final practice of training camp on Tuesday, signifying the end of this particular section of the NFL calendar. They will now start to transition to a schedule that aligns with the setup during the regular season as they bring the second half of the preseason to a close. Then will come the final round of cuts before the regular season finally begins.

On Tuesday, the Lions had two notable visitors for their final training camp practice. Detroit Tigers pitcher Max Scherzer and actor Jeff Daniels both stopped by to take in the practice.

Scherzer, it turns out, played quarterback for two years in high school before deciding to turn his focus strictly to baseball. Considering he currently has an 18-1 record for the Tigers, I'd say he made the right decision.
