Lions injury report: Several notable players still out

Some notable Detroit Lions players remained out on Tuesday.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

The Detroit Lions' final practice of the preseason was held on Tuesday, and seven players were out because of injuries. Here's the list:

RB Montell Owens
WR Calvin Johnson
TE Michael Williams
DE Ziggy Ansah
DT Ndamukong Suh
S Louis Delmas
S John Wendling

The Lions got wide receiver Ryan Broyles, center Leroy Harris and punter Sam Martin back on Tuesday. Unfortunately, cornerback Darius Slay exited Tuesday's practice with a left ankle injury, but Tim Twentyman tweeted that it "doesn't look too serious." Hopefully it's just something minor.

Perhaps the most concerning injury right now is whatever Ansah is dealing with. The Lions have refused to discuss whether or not Ansah has a concussion, but the fact that he once again was not even seen at practice isn't encouraging. Let's just hope the Lions are being extra careful and whatever is wrong will be resolved in time for the start of the regular season.
