The Detroit Lions have whittled their roster down another man, as they placed Michael Williams on the injured reserve list, according to Tim Twentyman.
Williams had the potential of being on the final 53-man roster, but he broke his hand during the preseason. Many hoped the Lions would place Williams on the short-term injured reserve list so that he could come back later this year, but earlier it was reported that Montell Owens would be placed on the short-term IR. This means Williams will be out for the 2013 season.
This brings the Lions' roster down to 58.
