After getting Monday off, the Detroit Lions returned to the practice field on Tuesday with what appeared to be a much healthier team. The number of players missing from practice was down from Sunday, and a couple guys who had missed several practices in a row were back.
Defensive ends Israel Idonije and Jason Jones, for example, practiced on Tuesday. Both players had been out for around a week or so, but they were able to practice on Tuesday. It doesn't sound like they were full participants, but at least they were able to practice a bit.
Louis Delmas was also able to practice on Tuesday. He took part in Sunday's session as well, meaning he has now participated in back-to-back practices. There was a day off in between them, but that's good to see after he missed three straight practices last week.
Out on Tuesday were linebacker Travis Lewis and cornerbacks Chris Greenwood and Jonte Green. Lewis has now missed two straight practices, whereas Greenwood and Green have both been out for around a week now.
One other injury note: Running back Theo Riddick, who hurt his toe on Sunday, took part in Tuesday's practice. Evidently it wasn't a very serious injury.
