Reggie Bush injury: Lions get 'encouraging' news

The Detroit Lions got some good news on Reggie Bush's injury on Monday.

Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush underwent tests on his injured left knee on Monday. As expected, a clear-cut diagnosis with a firm timetable for his return was not released, but the news is still good.

Further evidence that the Lions got good news comes from Bush himself, who tweeted thumbs up shortly after noon on Monday. Also, Adam Schefter reported that Bush's knee injury "is not serious and he could be available to play as early as Sunday" against the Washington Redskins.

It remains to be seen if Bush will actually be good to go this week, especially since Schwartz later said that the injury could be of the "medium-term" variety. However, at least this doesn't look like something that will force Bush to miss an extended amount of time. The Lions can't afford for Bush to be out for long, so hopefully he will in fact be back sooner rather than later.
