Lions at Redskins inactives: Reggie Bush out because of knee injury

Reggie Bush will not play on Sunday for the Detroit Lions, as he has been declared inactive.

Jennifer Hilderbrand-USA TODAY S

Detroit Lions running back Reggie Bush was hoping to play on Sunday against the Washington Redskins, but he has been declared inactive. Bush did return to practice on a limited basis on Friday, but the Lions have decided to be extra careful with the left knee injury he suffered last week in Arizona. As a result, he's out, and the Lions will roll with Joique Bell as their starting running back. (Also, Mikel Leshoure is active for the first time this season.)

On a positive note, wide receiver Ryan Broyles and defensive tackle Nick Fairley are not on the list of inactives, meaning they are both set to play. For Broyles, this will be his official 2013 debut, while this will mark Fairley's return after he missed a week with a shoulder injury.

Here's the Lions' full list of inactives:

QB Kellen Moore
RB Reggie Bush
WR Patrick Edwards
OT Jason Fox
C Leroy Harris
DE Devin Taylor
S Don Carey

And here are the Redskins' inactives:

QB Rex Grossman
RB Evan Royster
TE Fred Davis
OG Josh LeRibeus
DT Chris Baker
S Jose Gumbs
K Kai Forbath
