Our pre-regular season approval ratings series continues with general manager Martin Mayhew. Like head coach Jim Schwartz, Mayhew is entering his fifth season in his current job. (Fifth season as the permanent general manager, that is.) He helped lead the Detroit Lions' turnaround in 2011, and he was tasked with turning the team around again this offseason. Soon, we will find out if all of the moves he's made this year will in fact lead to another bounce-back season for the Lions.
Our last approval poll on Mayhew was back in June. At that point, most of the heavy lifting had already taken place for the offseason. Free agency was pretty much wrapped up, as was the NFL Draft, and fans responded by giving him a 73 percent approval rating.
Since then, the Lions have continued to make tweaks to their roster in hopes of adding more talent. Mayhew was busy even in the summer months, and only now is the transactions wire finally starting to slow down with the regular season on the horizon.
So, do you approve of the job Mayhew is doing as the Lions' GM? Vote in the poll below and leave your thoughts in the comments.
