All things considered, the Detroit Lions are in pretty good shape from an injury standpoint going into their Week 1 game against the Minnesota Vikings. Nobody was sidelined on Thursday, meaning that defensive end Ziggy Ansah returned to practice. He had missed quite a bit of time because of a concussion, but he took part in practice on a limited basis on Thursday.
Here's the full injury report for the Lions:
DE Ziggy Ansah (concussion) - Limited in practice
S Louis Delmas (knee) - Limited in practice
It obviously still remains to be seen if Ansah will be able to play on Sunday, but he seems on track to give it a go. There are no guarantees with concussions, but the fact that he was able to practice on Thursday indicates that he has been cleared. Hopefully that is indeed the case.
Go here for a look at the Vikings' injury report, which is quite lengthy for the first week of the season.
