For the second year in a row, the Detroit Lions have six captains. The captains were voted on by Lions players, and the team announced them on Friday afternoon. Here's the rundown:
Offense: QB Matthew Stafford, WR Calvin Johnson
Defense: DT Ndamukong Suh, LB Stephen Tulloch
Special teams: K David Akers, S John Wendling
There are only two changes from last year's set of captains. On defense, Suh has taken the place of defensive end Kyle Vanden Bosch, who was released back in February. There was a lot of talk all offseason about if Suh will step up and become a leader, and I think it's safe to say that he has. The other change is on special teams, where Akers is stepping in for Jason Hanson, who retired this past offseason.
What do you think of this year's group of captains?
