Lions players react to Jim Caldwell hiring

Various Detroit Lions players chimed in on the hiring of head coach Jim Caldwell.

US PRESSWIRE

After the Detroit Lions hired Jim Caldwell as their new head coach on Tuesday, several players reacted to the news on Twitter or via the media. Below is a look at what they had to say.

Corey Hilliard, who was with the Indianapolis Colts for the final two years of the Tony Dungy era, had this to say about Caldwell (via the Free Press):

"He’s a leader of men, I like that term a lot. He’s one of those quiet coaches who you don’t want to make – some guys, there’s a lot of fear when you get yelled at, but with him it’s you don’t want to disappoint. It’s kind of like what Dungy had. Dungy wouldn’t yell at you, he was just disappointed at you and it felt even worse than getting yelled at. He’s kind of got that to him."
