It appears that Brian Xanders will be staying in Detroit... for now, anyway. Xanders interviewed for the Miami Dolphins' general manager job last week, but he's not one of the finalists for the vacancy, according to Jason La Canfora.

Xanders joined the Detroit Lions a year ago as a senior personnel executive. He was in charge of revamping the Lions' scouting system, and generally speaking, he provides another set of eyes and ears in the front office.
Considering that Xanders was the Denver Broncos' general manager before coming to Detroit, it's no surprise that he received some consideration for the Miami job. Lions general manager Martin Mayhew thinks that it's only a matter of time before Xanders gets another GM job, and that's probably true. However, Xanders isn't going to Miami, so it looks like he will be staying with the Lions for at least one more season.
