The Detroit Lions handed out massive contract extensions to both wide receiver Calvin Johnson and quarterback Matthew Stafford in the last two offseasons. This year, it's defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh's turn to get an extension. He will only be under contract through the 2014 season once the final year of his deal voids after the Super Bowl, and he's got a massive cap hit ($22.4 million) that needs to be reduced.
Already, the Lions have made it known that they want to sign Suh to a long-term deal, and Suh has apparently indicated that he wants to stay in Detroit. Negotiations will likely get rolling at some point this offseason, but talks will have to wait until Suh hires new representation, because he has parted ways with his agents.

Pro Football Talk reports that Suh fired Eugene Parker and Roosevelt Barnes, and Mike O'Hara confirmed that Suh decided to change agents. It's unknown why Suh opted to get new representation, but it's certainly interesting from a timing standpoint with him poised to get a massive new contract this offseason.
