- Mel Kiper recently regraded the 2013 NFL Draft, and the Detroit Lions got the only A grade. That's pretty impressive.
- Tim Twentyman took a look inside the draft scouting process by speaking with the Lions' director of college scouting and assistant director of scouting. Also, he sat in on one of the Lions' interviews with a player at the Senior Bowl to see what goes on behind the scenes.
- The Lions' base defense will continue to be a 4-3 look, but defensive coordinator Teryl Austin has plans to be aggressive out of multiple looks.

- Eight teams can be forced to be on HBO's Hard Knocks in 2014. The Lions are not one of those teams since they changed head coaches. By rule, the NFL can't force them to appear on the show this year.
- Roger Goodell spoke openly this week about the possibility of the NFL changing or eliminating extra points.
- Mike Munchak, who was a candidate for the Lions' head coaching job, has been hired as the Pittsburgh Steelers' offensive line coach.
- The Cleveland Browns finally have a new head coach, as they hired Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Mike Pettine on Thursday.
