2013 POD Awards: Rookie of the Year

Which Detroit Lions player should be named the Rookie of the Year? Vote here as part of the 2013 POD Awards.

Matt Sullivan

Next up in the 2013 POD Awards is the category for the Detroit Lions' Rookie of the Year. Here are the nominees:

TE Joseph Fauria

Fauria caught only 18 passes for 207 yards, but he found the end zone 7 times as a rookie. Yes, 7 of his 18 catches went for touchdowns.

OT LaAdrian Waddle

Waddle made eight starts for the Lions in 2013. He took over as the starting right tackle because of injuries, and he played so well that the Lions stuck with him even after Jason Fox and Corey Hilliard got healthy.

OG Larry Warford

Warford started every game at right guard for the Lions. He was the Lions' top offensive lineman, and he was one of the top offensive guards in all of the NFL.

DE Ziggy Ansah

Despite playing in only 14 games, Ansah led all rookies in sacks with 8.0 on the season. He also finished with 32 tackles, 1 pass defense and 2 forced fumbles in 2013.

P Sam Martin

Martin served as the Lions' kickoff specialist for most of the season, and he was their starting punter all year. He punted the ball 72 times and averaged 47.2 yards per kick (with a net average of 41.0 yards). Generally speaking, he helped upgrade the Lions' special teams in a big way.
