For the third year in a row, Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is going to miss the Pro Bowl because of an injury. He's been named to four consecutive Pro Bowls, but he hasn't actually played in one since 2011. This year, with surgery potentially being necessary to repair an injured knee, it's no surprise that Johnson has opted to sit out the game.
With Johnson out, an NFC North wide receiver from the rival Chicago Bears is going to get a chance to play in the Pro Bowl.
.@ChicagoBears WR Alshon Jeffery (@AJJeffery) has been named to Pro Bowl team replacing Calvin Johnson

Considering Alshon Jeffery finished 2013 with 89 catches for 1,421 yards and 7 touchdowns (and countless more ridiculous catches), I'd say he's a pretty worthy replacement. (Johnson, by the way, had 84 catches for 1,492 yards and 12 touchdowns in 2013.)
