The Detroit Lions are running out of healthy tight ends. Actually, Brandon Pettigrew is the only healthy player left at that position. Joseph Fauria has been out for nearly a month now with an ankle injury, and Eric Ebron missed practice on Thursday with a hamstring injury. Ebron was limited on Wednesday, but the fact that he missed practice on Thursday is concerning.
On a positive note, both wide receiver Jeremy Ross and defensive end Ziggy Ansah returned to practice on Thursday after being absent on Wednesday. Ross is dealing with an ankle injury, while Ansah has a toe injury. Based on what he said on Thursday, Ansah sounds like he will be good to go on Sunday against the New Orleans Saints, which is good news considering he is coming off the best game of his young career.
Ziggy Ansah speaks! Says his toe feels "fantastic."
