The Detroit Lions held their first practice overseas on Wednesday, and they got wide receiver Calvin Johnson back on a limited basis. It doesn't sound like he did very much, and it still seems unlikely at this point that he will play on Sunday, but this is definitely a step in the right direction for Johnson.
Now for some bad news. Right tackle LaAdrian Waddle missed practice with a concussion, and the Lions were also without defensive end Ziggy Ansah and tight ends Eric Ebron, Joseph Fauria and Brandon Pettigrew. Although Jim Caldwell indicated that both Ebron and Fauria are "rapidly improving," the Lions are currently without their top three tight ends. Hopefully the injury situation at that position will improve in the next few days.
Here's the Lions' full injury report for Wednesday:
RB Reggie Bush (ankle) - Limited in practice
RB Theo Riddick (hamstring) - Limited in practice
WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) - Limited in practice
TE Eric Ebron (hamstring) - Did not practice
TE Joseph Fauria (ankle) - Did not practice
TE Brandon Pettigrew (foot) - Did not practice
OT LaAdrian Waddle (concussion) - Did not practice
