Lions-Bills injury report: Joique Bell, Theo Riddick ruled out for Sunday

The Detroit Lions will be short on running backs on Sunday, as both Joique Bell and Theo Riddick have been ruled out for the Buffalo Bills game.

Chances are the newly promoted George Winn is going to have a role on more than just special teams this week. I say that because running backs Joique Bell and Theo Riddick have both been ruled out for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills, leaving the Detroit Lions with only Reggie Bush and Winn at the position. (Bell was actually "cleared for physical activity," but clearly he's not ready to play just yet.) The Lions also have fullback Jed Collins, but the bulk of the carries will have to come from Bush and Winn on Sunday

In other injury news, wide receiver Calvin Johnson is questionable after practicing on a limited basis on Friday. He missed two practices earlier in the week, which is basically the same plan he was on last week. In all likelihood, he will play on Sunday, but don't be surprised if he's limited again, and don't be surprised if he ends up missing a game at some point if his ankle injury doesn't start to get better.

On a positive note, right tackle LaAdrian Waddle is probable and is on track to make his return to action on Sunday. He's been out since the first series of the season, but all signs point to him returning this week for the Lions.

Here's the Lions' final injury report for Week 5:
