Lions-Bills inactives: Calvin Johnson active for Detroit

Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is active for Sunday's game against the Buffalo Bills.

Tim Fuller-USA TODAY Sports

It remains to be seen just how large of a role he will play on Sunday, but Detroit Lions wide receiver Calvin Johnson is active. He was also active last week, but he mainly served as a decoy when he was actually on the field. This week, there have been indications from Johnson that his ankle feels better, but he was on the same practice plan as last week. In other words, it's good that he's active, but he could still be limited by his ankle injury.

In other positive news, offensive tackle LaAdrian Waddle is also active for the Lions. This is his first game since he suffered a calf injury on the opening series of the season. Since he went out, and since Corey Hilliard suffered a season-ending injury in Week 1, the Lions have had to get by with a rotation of Garrett Reynolds and Cornelius Lucas at right tackle. Now, though, Waddle is back, and hopefully the Lions' offensive line will show some serious improvement as a result.

Here's the Lions' full list of inactives:

QB Kellen Moore
RB Joique Bell
RB Theo Riddick
TE Joseph Fauria
DE Larry Webster
LB Travis Lewis
CB Cassius Vaughn

And here are the Buffalo Bills' inactives for Sunday:

RB Bryce Brown
WR Marcus Easley
OT Cyrus Kouandjio
OG Chris Williams
DT Kyle Williams
LB Nigel Bradham
CB Ross Cockrell
