Jay Feely to work out for Lions

Former Michigan kicker Jay Feely is scheduled to take part in the Detroit Lions' workout on Tuesday.

The Detroit Lions have released Alex Henery, and they are going to hold a workout on Tuesday to find his replacement. The full list of kickers scheduled to work out for the Lions is unknown, but we do know that Jay Feely is going to take part in the tryout.

Feely, who kicked at Michigan before beginning his NFL career, has been in the league since 2001. He's played for the Atlanta Falcons, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins, New York Jets and Arizona Cardinals over the years. He was most recently with the Cardinals from 2010-13, but he was let go this past August.

In 2013, Feely went 30-for-36 on field goals (83.3 percent) and 37-for-37 on extra points. Over the course of his entire career, he has connected on 82.7 percent of his field goals, so he's got a pretty good track record.

Interestingly enough, Feely actually indicated on Twitter following Sunday's game that he would be interested in kicking for the Lions:

Feely has apparently received that call from the Lions, and now he will get a chance to show them what he's got on Tuesday.
