As is usually the case following a loss, especially one at home to a pretty big underdog, the Detroit Lions dropped in this week's NFL power rankings. They managed to get into the top 10 last week in all of the power rankings we track, but now only one source has them that high. Take a look:
- SB Nation: 15th (down from 7th)
- NFL.com: 14th (down from 8th)
- ESPN: 14th (down from 8th)
- CBS Sports: 14th (down from 8th)
- FOX Sports: 10th (down from 6th)
- Pro Football Talk: 16th (down from 8th)
FOX Sports is the clear outlier here, as they still have the Lions 10th. They've been quite high on the Lions all season, and clearly they're not letting the loss to the Buffalo Bills affect their opinion of the team too much.
The Minnesota Vikings, which will play host to the Lions this week, are 25th (SB Nation), 26th (NFL.com), 25th (ESPN), 25th (CBS Sports), 21st (FOX Sports) and 26th (Pro Football Talk) in this week's power rankings. Based on how much farther down they are than the Lions, this seems like another game Detroit should win. Of course, that didn't turn out to be the case in a similar situation last week, but the Lions will have a good opportunity to get things back on track on Sunday.
