After having five players sidelined on Wednesday, the Detroit Lions were without only three players on Thursday. That's because running back Joique Bell and wide receiver Calvin Johnson were back at practice on Thursday. Johnson returned after simply getting a day off, and Bell was back after missing practice with an ankle injury. It's likely that he was merely given a day off as well.
Unlike Bell and Johnson, defensive end Jason Jones did not return to practice on Thursday. It turns out he is dealing with a family situation, and his status for Sunday is up in the air as a result:
Caldwell said DE Jason Jones missed practice Wed due to family matter. Unsure when he'll be back and "not certain" of his availability Sun.
