Lions injury report: Three players miss practice

New, comments

Three Detroit Lions players were sidelined from practice on Wednesday.

Andrew Weber-USA TODAY Sports

Going into Sunday's game against the Chicago Bears, it's a pretty safe bet that the Detroit Lions will be down one starter on each side of the ball. On offense, right tackle LaAdrian Waddle has already been ruled out for Sunday's game, and he is expected to be placed on injured reserve at some point soon after partially tearing his ACL. On defense, meanwhile, it doesn't look like defensive tackle Nick Fairley will be back this week, as he, like Waddle, missed practice on Wednesday.

Defensive end George Johnson was the only other player who missed practice on Wednesday. He's not injured, though. It turns out that Johnson is the latest player to catch the illness that went around the Lions' locker room last week. Chances are this will be a one- or two-day thing and he'll be back later in the week.

Here's the Lions' full injury report for Wednesday:

WR Calvin Johnson (ankle) - Limited in practice
OT LaAdrian Waddle (knee) - Did not practice
DE George Johnson (illness) - Did not practice
DT Nick Fairley (knee) - Did not practice
LB Ashlee Palmer (quad) - Limited in practice
CB Mohammed Seisay (hamstring) - Limited in practice
S Don Carey (ankle) - Limited in practice
