2015 Super Bowl odds put Lions in middle of the pack

With Super Bowl 48 in the books, it's time to start looking ahead to the 2015 Super Bowl. Which team is favored to win it all? Let's look at the odds.

Kirby Lee-USA TODAY Sports

The 2014 Super Bowl just ended last night, but odds are already out for the 2015 edition of the game. As always, these odds are meant to reflect the perceived favorites for next season, but with free agency and the draft still to come, things could change quite a bit in the coming months.

For now, according to Bovada, the Seattle Seahawks are favored to repeat as champions and win Super Bowl 49. Behind them are the San Francisco 49ers and Denver Broncos, and there's a bit of a drop-off to the next tier of teams (New England Patriots, Green Bay Packers and New Orleans Saints).

What are the Detroit Lions' odds for winning the 2015 Super Bowl? Bovada has them listed at 33/1. This puts the Lions in a tie for 14th with several other teams -- the Arizona Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Pittsburgh Steelers and San Diego Chargers. The Chicago Bears are ahead of Detroit at 25/1, while the Minnesota Vikings are way down at 75/1.

For reference, the Lions had 40/1 odds for winning the 2014 Super Bowl at this time last year. The Patriots, 49ers and Broncos were among the top favorites, and the Seahawks' odds were listed at 16/1.
