Lions looking to hire a couple Broncos assistants?

The Detroit Lions reportedly may be looking at hiring a couple Denver Broncos coaches.

The Detroit Lions filled a couple more openings on their coaching staff this week by hiring Tony Oden and Matt Raich. It sort of looked like the Lions were on the verge of finalizing their coaching staff with those two additions, but now it appears that more moves may be coming. Specifically, the Lions may be taking a look at hiring a couple assistant coaches from the Denver Broncos, according to Mike Garafolo.

Jim Bob Cooter is currently an offensive assistant for the Broncos. He held the same position in Indianapolis with Jim Caldwell from 2009-11, and he was an offensive quality control coach with the Kansas City Chiefs in 2012. He played quarterback at Tennessee in college, so perhaps he is a candidate for the Lions' quarterbacks coach job.

Chris Beake is a defensive quality control coach for the Broncos. Interestingly, he was an offensive assistant for the Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers and Cleveland Browns before going to Denver, and he also coached linebackers in Atlanta for a few seasons. It's unclear what position he could end up taking in Detroit given his diverse coaching background, but he played quarterback in college at Air Force.
